Meet Ryan
Ryan K. Lee is the principal attorney at Smith & Lee Injury Lawyers and a lifelong member of the Rockwall community. Born and raised in Rockwall, Ryan graduated from Rockwall High School before attending San Diego State University in California. He later earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2009.
After law school, Ryan returned home to Rockwall and began practicing law. With the exception of a period in 2013 when he served as General Counsel to the Texas Senate Jurisprudence Committee, Rockwall has remained the center of both his professional and personal life.
Today, Ryan represents individuals and families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. His practice focuses on serious personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions, commercial trucking accidents, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death claims. He believes clients deserve more than a case number, they deserve an attorney who knows them, communicates with them, and is prepared to stand beside them from the beginning of a case through trial when necessary.
Ryan was selected to the Texas Rising Stars list for five consecutive years, from 2016 through 2020. After becoming ineligible for the Rising Stars designation based on age and years in practice, he was selected to the Texas Super Lawyers list each year from 2021 through 2026.
Ryan also serves as Associate Judge of the Rockwall Municipal Court. He is a graduate of the Keenan Trial Institute, a Fellow of the Texas Bar College, and a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
He is a past president of the Rockwall County Bar Association and a charter member of the Rockwall County Criminal Defense Bar Association. His professional memberships include the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice.
Ryan’s commitment to Rockwall extends well beyond his law practice. He currently serves as president of the Corporate Board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas and has remained actively involved in the community where he grew up, built his career, and is raising his family.
Ryan and his wife, Christina, live in Rockwall with their two sons and two dogs. Chewie, a miniature Australian Shepherd, and their rescue, a King Charles Spaniel and Corgi mix, help ensure the house is rarely quiet. Outside the office, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games, watching football, camping, and finding an occasional excuse to get outdoors.
